Ellsby

Support

Ellsby is in private beta and made by a small team. If something isn't working, or isn't clear, we want to hear about it.

Response time
Within 2 business days

Write from the email address on your Ellsby account if you can; it lets us find your family quickly and confirm it's you. For anything involving your account or data, we'll always confirm with you before making a change.

You can also send a suggestion or report a problem from inside the app: Settings → Help & Feedback. It arrives with your app version attached, which saves a round trip.

My invite link isn't working

A few things to check, in order:

  1. Open the link on your iPhone, with Ellsby installed. On a phone with the app, the link opens Ellsby directly and takes you to the accept screen.
  2. No app yet? The link opens a web page with instructions and an invite code. Install Ellsby from the TestFlight link we sent you, open it, choose "I have an invite," and paste the code.
  3. Sign in with the same email the invite was sent to if you can. It isn't required (the code works regardless), but it lets Ellsby land you on the accept screen automatically.
  4. Invites expire after 14 days, and a used or withdrawn invite can't be reused. If the page says the invite isn't available, ask your co-parent to send a fresh one from Settings → Family.

Still stuck? Email us the family name and roughly when the invite was sent, and we'll sort it out.

Subscribing from Apple or Google Calendar

Ellsby can publish your calendar (events plus who-has-the-kids banners) as a read-only feed that other calendar apps can subscribe to.

  1. In Ellsby, open Settings → Subscribe to your calendar.
  2. Apple Calendar: tap Open in Calendar, or copy the link and add it under Calendar → Add Calendar → Add Subscription Calendar.
  3. Google Calendar: copy the link, then on the web go to Other calendars → + → From URL and paste it.

Good to know:

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account yourself, in the app: More → Settings → Delete my account. It asks you to confirm twice, then removes your login, your device notifications and your calendar-feed link right away.

One thing to know first: an Ellsby family is shared between two parents. If your co-parent has an account, deleting yours removes you and your personal information, but the shared calendar (events, requests, expenses, records) stays with them — you'll appear as a parent they can re-invite. If you're the only parent in the family, the family, its kids and everything on the calendar are deleted with your account. Either way it can't be undone.

Prefer we do it? Email hello@ellsby.com from the address on your account and we'll confirm it's you first. The privacy policy has the retention details.

Something on the calendar looks wrong

Most schedule questions come down to one of three things: an approved one-off change (these override the regular pattern), a holiday arrangement, or a school day off that changes the handoff. Open the day in Ellsby to see which one applies. If it still looks wrong, send us a screenshot and the date; the more specific, the faster we can fix it.

Privacy

What we collect, who can see it, and how to exercise your rights are all in the privacy policy. The short version: your family's information is visible to the two parents in your family and nobody else, and we don't sell it.
